France has again refused to extradite oligarch Zhevago to Ukraine

The appeals court of Paris refused to extradite the Ukrainian oligarch Konstantin Zhevago to Ukraine, "Zerkalo Nedeli" Ukrainian publication reports, referring to the businessman's press service.

"France again refused to extradite Konstantin Zhevago to Ukraine. The appeals court of Paris studied the materials presented by НАБУ и САП and SAP and concluded that the Ukrainian court cannot ensure the fairness of the process and the protection of human rights during the investigation of the oligarch's case," the publication says.

Let's remind that in December 2022, the communication advisor of the State Investigation Bureau of Ukraine (SIB) Tatyana Sapyan announced that Zhevago is a figurehead in several criminal cases and was arrested in Courchevel, France, at the request of Kyiv.
About a month ago, the "Ukrainskaya Pravda" publication, citing its sources, reported that the bureau conducted searches at Zhevago's enterprises on suspicion of serving Russian interests. In addition, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine suspects that processing plants belonging to Zhevago have evaded taxes.
