The operational command of the Polish Armed Forces claims that two Polish Air Force fighters intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
"On October 28, 2025, two pairs of Polish Air Force MiG-29 fighters successfully visually identified, intercepted and escorted a Russian aircraft flying over the Baltic Sea until it left their area of responsibility," the Tenth Command said in a statement.
According to the statement, Polish fighter jets intercepted an Il-20 plane, which was supposedly carrying out a reconnaissance mission in international airspace, without a submitted flight plan and with transponders turned off.
"The plane did not violate the Polish airspace," the Polish command noted.
