After the induction ceremony and presentation of gifts, US President Donald Trump and South Korean leader Lee Jae-myung began talks during a luncheon broadcast live on the White House television network.
It was reported earlier that Trump was awarded the highest award of the country, the Grand Order of Mugungwa, for the first time in South Korea.
After the ceremony, the leaders started the negotiations.
According to South Korea's presidential administration, the joint lunch with key ministers from the two countries will discuss a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, economic security, as well as ways to modernize alliance relations and strengthen peace on the peninsula.
