Venezuela's president has suspended an energy agreement with Trinidad and Tobago

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has suspended an energy agreement with Trinidad and Tobago due to fears that the country could participate in US aggression against the Bolivarian Republic.

"In the face of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar's threat to turn Trinidad and Tobago into an aircraft carrier of the US empire against Venezuela and South America, I have approved a precautionary measure: the immediate suspension of all provisions and agreements in the energy agreement," the president said on Venezolana de Televisión's "With Maduro Plus" program.

Maduro noted that the Venezuelan Ministry of Hydrocarbons and the board of directors of the state-owned oil and gas company Petróleos de Venezuela proposed to terminate the energy agreement with Trinidad and Tobago for the development of joint gas blocks.

However, "as a sign of Bolivarian brotherhood, we kept this energy agreement", the president stated.
