Lithuania has started to allow diplomats, EU citizens, as well as those traveling in transit to and from Kaliningrad region to cross the border at the Myadininkai checkpoint. The "Shalchininkai" checkpoint remains closed, the State Customs Committee of Belarus (SCC) reported.
"Lithuanian sources have informed about the new restrictions on crossing the border with Belarus through the Myadininkai checkpoint. The Lithuanian side intends to allow the following categories of persons to cross the border: diplomats, travelers who transit through the territory of Belarus to the Kaliningrad region and return, citizens of Lithuania and the European Union, their family members, as well as persons with the right of residence in Lithuania," said the statement of the press service of the Republic of Lithuania.
The Customs Service of Belarus confirms that the citizens of the mentioned categories started to cross the border through the checkpoint "Каменный Лог" from 2:30 p.m., the message states.
