Lithuania closed the border checkpoint with Belarus indefinitely

The Lithuanian authorities have closed two border checkpoints with Belarus for an indefinite period of time, as a result of which there are no operational checkpoints left. This was announced by the National Crisis Management Center. "The border checkpoints of Medininkai village and Shalchininka regional center are closed for an indefinite period of time," the statement said.

This measure has been used regularly since the forced closure of Vilnius International Airport due to weather balloons being used to smuggle cigarettes into Lithuania in its control zone.

On October 26, at approximately 21:40 (22:40 Moscow time), the capital's airport was closed for the third time in three days.
