Israeli drone attacks UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon

An Israeli drone dropped a grenade on a United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL) patrol near the Kfarqila settlement in southern Lebanon.

The press service of the peacekeeping forces reported that none of the crew members were injured. "At approximately 17:45 on Sunday (Moscow time), an Israeli drone approached the Unifil patrol near the Kfarkila settlement and threw a grenade. "After some time, an Israeli tank opened fire in the direction of the peacekeeping forces.

Fortunately, none of the UNIFIL personnel were injured and their equipment was not damaged," the UN Interim Force in South Lebanon said in a statement.

According to a Unifil press release, the incident occurred shortly after another incident in the same location, in which an Israeli drone flew at a very low altitude over a Blue Helmets patrol. "Peacekeepers took the necessary defensive measures to counter the drone," the UN Interim Force in South Lebanon said in a statement.
