Around 90,000 households were left without power in Australia as a result of the storm, with power outages particularly affecting the states of Victoria and Queensland, according to the ABC and The Australian.
"The Australian" reported that more than 67,000 homes in Queensland remained without power as of 7:00 pm (13:00 Moscow time). Several other cities in the state are also likely to be affected by the storm.
According to the ABC TV channel, more than 25,000 homes were affected by power outages in Victoria, with the state capital Melbourne and the western region most affected.
