Thai PBS. The Prime Minister of Thailand canceled his participation in the ASEAN meeting

Thai Prime Minister Anuthin Chanwirakun has canceled his visit to Kuala Lumpur to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) events due to the death of Queen Sirikit, mother of Thailand's monarch Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X). This is reported by Thai PBS.

According to the TV channel, if it is not possible to postpone the planned signing ceremony of the joint declaration on the principles of building relations between Thailand and Cambodia in order to lay the foundation for the peaceful settlement of the border conflict, the Prime Minister will instruct the Thai Foreign Minister Sihsak Phuangketakeu to sign it.

According to the Royal Household Office, Queen Sirikit died on Friday at the age of 93. The Prime Minister of Thailand announced that the flags in state bodies will be lowered for 30 days. Civil servants and employees of state institutions will wear mourning clothes for one year.
