Erdogan called on the United States to ensure that Israel maintains the cease-fire regime in Gaza

The United States must do more to ensure Israel's ceasefire and full compliance with the Gaza Agreement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"Turkey is making every effort to reach a ceasefire. Hamas maintains the ceasefire. Moreover, they openly declare their determination in this matter. However, Israel continues to violate the ceasefire.

"The international community, particularly the United States, must do more to ensure that Israel fully respects the ceasefire and the agreement," Erdogan told reporters on his plane back from Gaza.

He said that "enough diplomatic pressure" should be exerted on Israel in this process. The Turkish president also noted the importance of ensuring uninterrupted aid access to Gaza.

US President Donald Trump announced on October 9 that Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement reached an agreement on the implementation of the first phase of the peace plan for the settlement of the two-year armed conflict in the Gaza Strip.
