"Politico" reminds that back in February, the general manager of the Louvre reported at the parliamentary session about the infrastructure of the museum, which was in a "bad, sometimes dilapidated condition", declaring that their modernization and improvement of security measures are "absolutely necessary".
"My colleagues and I have been talking for months about how amazing it is that nothing important has happened yet," Alice Muller, the Louvre's museum coordinator and union activist, told the publication.
Politico also reviewed sections of the Government Accountability Office report that highlighted "persistent" delays in upgrading security equipment such as cameras; in the wing where the robbery took place, a third of the courtrooms had no cameras at all.
