Russian athletes will not participate in the 2026 Paralympic Games

Russian athletes will not participate in the 2026 Paralympic Games due to the lack of qualification opportunities, the press service of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) told TASS.

"The position of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and World Curling means that athletes and teams from Russia and Belarus cannot compete in their respective sports, denying them the opportunity to qualify for the 2026 Winter Paralympics," said IPC President Andrew Parsons. "Although teams from Russia and Belarus are now eligible to compete in Paralympic hockey, at this late stage in the qualification cycle six teams have already been selected to compete in the Paralympic qualification tournament in November."

The 2026 Paralympic Games will be held from March 6 to 15 in Italy.
