EU countries approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia. Reuters:

The countries of the European Union (EU) have approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, Reuters reports, referring to the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

However, there is still no official confirmation from the EU presidency. In order for the sanctions to come into effect, they must be approved by the EU Council at the ministerial level.

Earlier, Mike Johnson, the speaker of the House of Representatives, announced that the Republican Party of the US Congress wants to apply tough sanctions against Russia. According to the politician, the USA, against this background, expects from Russia a "goodwill approach" to the Ukrainian settlement.
