US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the disarmament of the Palestinian Hamas movement is a difficult task.
"We have a very, very difficult task before us: to disarm Hamas, but at the same time to restore Gaza, to improve the lives of the people of Gaza, and to ensure that Hamas no longer poses a threat to our friends in Israel. It's not easy," Vance said during a press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel.
The US vice president noted that the Gaza agreement can serve as a model for other peace agreements in the world. Vance also emphasized his optimism that the ceasefire will be preserved.
Vance arrived in Israel on Tuesday, and a few days ago the US ambassador to the Gaza conflict, Steve Wittkoff, and the son-in-law of the US president, Jared Kushner, arrived in the country.
