During the thematic discussion on nuclear weapons of the First Committee of the 80th session of the UNGA, the RA delegation emphasized the importance of the current arms reduction and disarmament regimes. This was announced by the RA representation at the UN.
The delegation also reaffirmed RA's commitment to fulfill its obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and called on the states that have not yet joined the treaty to join the treaty.
The delegation also emphasized that Armenia has adopted a transparent and open policy for the safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy and will continue to pursue this policy by taking necessary measures to improve and strengthen the country's nuclear security.
