More than 100,000 people marched through the streets of New York to protest the policies of President Donald Trump. Protests are also taking place in other major cities of the country: Washington, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.
Thousands of people gathered in New York's Times Square on Saturday morning. The streets and subway entrances were filled with protesters holding placards reading "Democracy, not monarchy" and "The Constitution is not optional."
Before the demonstrations, Trump's supporters accused the organizers of the action of having connections with the extreme left-wing "Antifa" movement and condemned the event.
The organizers of the protests and the demonstrators themselves have stated that the events are of a peaceful nature.
Absence of violence is the fundamental principle of the "No to Kings" protests, the movement of the same name announced on its website, urging all participants to avoid possible clashes.
