Volkswagen will stop production of its oldest crossover

German automaker Volkswagen will stop production of the Touareg crossover in 2026, according to carscoops.com. The model has been produced since 2002.

"Over the entire production period, 1.2 million Volkswagen Touareg crossovers were sold. The car will be assembled in 2026. However, the nameplate of the model will not disappear forever, as the company plans to release an all-electric successor," the portal reports.

Volkswagen will release the final version of the crossover under the name Final Edition. It will have the variant name engraved on the rear window frame. Additionally, the car will get unique illuminated door sill panels, special dashboard trim and a leather-wrapped gearbox.

It was previously announced that Mercedes-Benz will stop production of the EQS model.

Before leaving the market, the current EQS will be updated in 2025 and will receive an 800-volt fast charging system.

The next model will be the new generation S-Class. Cars will be available with both electric and traditional internal combustion engines.
