Residents were warned of a strong magnetic storm expected on the night of October 17

Specialists of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Space Research Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences predict significant geomagnetic activity on the night of October 16-17.

According to monitoring data, the peak of the magnetic storm will be between midnight and 6:00 AM. This phenomenon can affect the performance of electronic equipment and the well-being of weather-sensitive individuals.

Experts explain that geomagnetic disturbances are caused by solar flares, which emit streams of charged particles into space.

No major magnetic storms are expected over the next four weeks, but short-term magnetospheric disturbances are possible on October 26 and 30 and November 2 and 7. During the periods of increased solar activity, medical experts recommend maintaining the daily routine, avoiding overwork and getting enough rest.
