Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran have agreed on increasing the volume of cargo transportation through the North-South corridor

Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran have agreed to 15 million tons, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafa, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk and Iranian Minister of Urban Development, have been adopted a joint statement.

According to the document, the parties agreed to create a special working group of road transport, which will include representatives of customs, border and transport departments of the three countries.

The statement said that the end of the "North-South" corridor is vital to the construction of the Rash Astara railway and terminal construction. The parties stressed that it is necessary to increase the volume of cargo to 15 million tons and ensure their continued growth, developing a joint action plan in three months.
