German Foreign Minister Johann Vadefull opposed the deployment of the German military in Ukraine.
Vadefull claimed that Ukraine needs security guarantees, and that Germany should play a "important role" to ensure peace. However, he was against the deployment of German troops in Ukraine.
"We have focused on NATO's territory as others did not do," said the German Foreign Minister in an interview with Table.media portal. He also reminded that the Bundesver (German Armed Forces) constantly deployed a brigade in Lithuania.
"This will probably be a big burden to us with the deployment of the conscharge to Ukraine," Wadephul said. At the same time, he stressed that this issue should study the German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in detail.
"This does not mean that we cannot provide military and technical assistance to Ukraine in other ways," he said.
