Today, Deputy Minister of Education, Araksia Svaryan reported that the legislative package on the amendment to public schools, which had long been discussed, has already been approved by the government and will soon be submitted to the autumn session of the National Assembly for final approval.
According to the project, the administration of schools will continue to be subordinated by the staff of the regional administrations and the staff of the Yerevan Municipality. It is envisaged that the schools subordinate with the regional administrations will be transferred to the Ministry of Edgate in September 2026, and the transfer of schools under the jurisdiction of Yerevan Municipality will be carried out since 2027. Additional information on preparations will be provided.
The Deputy Minister also noted that the Law on Education also made changes, uniting certification approaches. A sub-legislative act is planned, which will enable one certification process to participate in the competitions of preschool, school and professional educational institutions. In addition, the requirements of the work experience required to apply to certification have been reduced.
