The center of the American capital has been installed in the center of the National Guard to ensure public order, the US Army's press service said.
"The National Guard of the Columbia District has arrived on duty, a federal and regional law enforcement agencies (near the US Congress building)," the statement said.
On August 11, US President Donald Trump announced the deployment of the National Guard forces in the capital to fight crime, and noted that the city police will be deployed under the Federal direct control.
The American leader also admitted that if necessary, military officials may be called to ensure security in Washington.
