Hungary hopes that Putin and Trump's meeting will lead to Ukraine's peace

The Hungarian government welcomes the intention to hold a personal meeting of Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to lead to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Siarto.

He noted that on August 6, the whole world's attention was focused on Moscow, where the Russian President received Special Envoy of the American Leader Stephen Whitkoff.
"I talked to several participants of yesterday's meeting on the phone this morning. They approved the positive information spread in the press.

"We hope that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will meet in person as soon as possible. This is the only way to return to Central Europe peace, "the Foreign Minister wrote in X.

Syarto also believes that after Whitcoff's visit to Moscow, the news "brought comfort to many people, especially the residents of Central Europe, who are neighbors."
