His comments were made after the United States announced the further increase in customs duties on Indian products, including agricultural products, up to 50%.
"The interests of farmers are our priority. India will never give up its interests of its farmers, pastors and fishermen. And I know that I will personally have to pay a big price for it, but I'm ready. India is ready for it, for country farmers, fishermen and pastors, "said the Prime Minister of India.
In late July, US President Donald Trump announced the definition of 25% customs duties on goods imported from India, citing trade duties on New Delhi, commercial barriers and "cooperation with Russia."
