Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan said that the Armenian authorities do not yet plan to apply for membership in BRICS. He said this when answering a corresponding question from a journalist.
“No, no, not at this stage,” TASS quotes him as saying.
At the same time, he confirmed that Armenia will take part in the BRICS summit on October 22-24 in Kazan.
Earlier, the Brazilian Ambassador to Russia, Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares, said that the Brazilian side proposed Colombia as a possible new BRICS member.
