Russia handed over thousands of bodies of the killed soldiers to the Ukrainian side and received dozens of bodies of its killed soldiers, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Based on humanitarian reasons, as you know, we handed over the bodies of thousands of died Ukrainian soldiers, and instead received some of the dozen boys who sacrificed their lives for the homeland," Putin told reporters.
Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held an informal meeting in Valaam on Friday. The leaders of Russia and Belarus are visiting Valaam together for several years. They visited the island in 2019, 2023 and 2024 in July.
