Politico. Trump intends to set higher customs duties toward several partners

US President Donald Trump will not postporrect customs duties on several commercial partners, including Canada, Mexico and Taiwan, Politico newspaper reports, citing sources.

According to the publication, the countries, which "agree on Washington, are negotiating to avoid defining high punitive customs duties." According to a source, "American negotiators put pressure on Taiwan to get the necessary access to Taiwan markets."

Trump has already signed an executive decree on customs duties on goods and services from Brazil to 50%, as well as a decree on the import of copper semi-finished products and copper.

The American leader also believes that the United States and China will be able to develop a "very fair" agreement on further terms of bilateral trade.
