Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan received the Public Defender of the Republic of Slovakia Robert Dobrovodski reported by the ministry.
"Welcoming the Public Defender, Minister Srbuhi Galyan noted that the protection of human rights is one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, which is evidence of the national human rights strategy. Speaking about the steps taken to improve human rights protection structures, the Minister noted that the ministry is working hard to fight against discrimination and fighting hatred speech. In particular, the draft laws of ensuring and discriminating the equality and discrimination and "National Minorities" have been developed, sectoral trainings and awareness have been carried out.
At the same time, a separate strategic document on the fight against discrimination and hate speech has been developed.
Srbuhi Galyan spoke about the conditions of storing persons deprived of liberty in Armenia, emphasizing the need for continuous improvements in the field. He also touched upon the European Committee on Prevention of Torture (CPT) in this context.
Touching upon the right to the right to a fair trial, Srbuhi Galyan also presented the legislative package of the term "reasonable term" of the "Reasonable Term" in the Civil Procedure and Administrative Procedure Code, which is to define the guidelines for the case with the opportunity to extend it.
During the meeting, the Minister of Justice also spoke about the introduction of alternative dispute resolution, the activities of some family cases, the activities of the Institute of Assignation, Anonymous Assignant Mechanizes.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation in the field of human rights protection, "the statement said.
