The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court requested arrest warrants for the leaders of Hamas and Israel

The International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, has sought arrest warrants for three top Hamas leaders for the October 7 attacks. At the same time, he filed similar charges against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant for war crimes in Gaza, including the starvation of civilians. In an interview with CNN, the prosecutor said the charges against Hamas leaders included “ extermination, murder, hostage-taking, rape and sexual assault of detainees." The charges against Netanyahu and Galant include "extermination, using starvation as a method of war, denying humanitarian aid supplies, deliberately targeting civilians in conflict," Khan said. In an interview with Christian Amanpouri, Netanyahu stated that he would not accept any ICC arrest warrants for senior Israeli government and military officials because Israel "has an independent legal system that thoroughly investigates all violations of the law."
