7 tourism clusters will be created, three of which will be in Jermuk


RA Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan visited Jermuk city of Vayots Dzor region on October 19, where he participated in the presentation of the strategy of the Armenian Tourism Federation for 2024-2029. The event was also attended by Vayots Dzor Marz Governor Kolya Mikaelyan, Jermuk Community Head Vahagn Arsenyan, as well as the USA Agency for International Development and
Representatives of the German International Cooperation Society. During the event, the federation's strategy for the coming years, their vision, further steps and actions were presented. During the discussion, it was determined that Jermuk is one of the most important tourist destinations in Armenia, and steps should be taken to increase the recognition and attractiveness of the city. so that as many tourists as possible can come to Armenia and get acquainted with the sights and potential of Armenia. Minister Gevorg Papoyan made a speech and presented legislative changes in the field of tourism in Armenia. The minister also noted that the state is making large investments in the development of tourism infrastructure, and in the near future it is planned to create 7 tourism clusters, three of which will be located in the Vayots Dzor region, in the city of Jermuk, in the communities of Yeghegis and Areni. They discussed the branding of Armenia's tourism strategy, domestic and issues related to the development of inbound tourism, cooperation with foreign countries, regional and international organizations, improving the quality of tourist services. The minister answered the questions of the meeting participants and listened to their proposals.
