The Baltic states informed the United Nations about the ban on anti-defense mines

Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have informed UN member states that ban anti-countermudicides from Ottawa's Convention, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of those countries have made announcements.

The Latvian Foreign Ministry's press service said that the joint application of the three countries was submitted on June 27.

According to the charter of the mentioned Convention, the participation of the countries is canceled in the commitment envisaged by that document six months after the application.

It is also reported that the situation in the field of regional security has changed significantly since the recession of the Baltic States in this Convention.
