The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and a number of other high-ranking officials crashed in the mountains on the evening of May 19, when the Iranian delegation was returning after negotiations in Azerbaijan. On the morning of May 20, the rescuers managed to reach the place of destruction. All those in the helicopter were killed. A five-day mourning has been announced in Iran.
