Russian presidential assistant Vladimir Medinsky has said that Russia wants peace, but if Kiev continues to be guided by national interests of other countries, Moscow will have to respond. This is reportedThe Wall Street Journal:
"We want peace, but if Ukraine continues to be guided by other (countries) national interests, we will have to respond," said Medinsky.
The adviser to the President of Russia added that Russia and Ukraine are united with a common language and culture, so the two countries are doomed to be close allies. Medinesky has compared the conflict between Russia and Ukraine to the conflict between the younger and older brother who is trying to find out who is smarter and influential.
