Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened the world's tallest railway bridge, which passes over the Chammu and Kashmir's northern union, Hindustan Times reports.
"The Bridge over the River, which will be on railway, will contribute to the rest of India to the region, will contribute to the development of transport infrastructure and tourism in the region," said the Prime Minister during the opening ceremony.
"This great event symbolizes the unity and will of the people of India," he said.
The bridge is built on the Chab River, the height of the river is 359 m, and the average water level (the river changes the weather) is at least 322 m, which makes this bridge the highest railway bridge on the planet.
The new bridge is designed to face earthquakes in Kashmir, as well as up to 74 m / s wind bursts. The 1.3 km long structure has a 467 m centroops. The world's longest cable crane was used to install the choral flight.
The opening of the bridge was scheduled for 2019, but for a number of reasons the completion of the construction was postponed, including because of the Coronavirus.
