Hamas has accepted a ceasefire submitted by US Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff, according to which 10 Israeli hostage is scheduled to release a 70-day ceasefire, the Palestinian source reports. The proposal also includes free release of Palestinian prisoners, including hundreds of long-term convicts.
No official response was received from the Israeli authorities. Hamas noted that it is ready to release all hostages if Israel will leave Gaza and agree to a permanent ceasefire. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously said that only for the release of hostages is ready for a temporary ceasefire, and that the war will be completed only in case of complete destruction of Hamas.
After the October 7 attack attack on Hamas, Israel has launched large-scale land and air military operations in Gaza, which killed about 54,000 Palestinians and was destroyed. Help groups warn that starvation marks are common throughout Gaza, Reuters reports.
