Israel allowed 50 humanitarian aid trucks into northern Gaza

Israeli authorities allowed 50 trucks carrying humanitarian aid into northern Gaza following a US threat to limit arms supplies. This was reported by The Times of Israel newspaper.
Israel allowed 50 truckloads of humanitarian aid into the northern Gaza Strip, hours after the United States confirmed that Washington's continued arms shipments were at risk unless Israeli authorities took serious steps within 30 days to resolve the growing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian enclave, the publication notes.
The newspaper cites data from the Office for the Coordination of Israeli Government Activities in the Palestinian Territories (COGAT), according to which 50 trucks with food, water, medicine and materials for temporary shelters were transferred from Jordan. COGAT assured that Israel “will continue to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” notes The Times of Israel.
Earlier, the head of the US State Department press service, Matthew Miller, confirmed at a regular briefing for journalists that Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin sent a letter to their Israeli counterparts in which they demanded that “within 30 days they take concrete measures” to improve the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave .
