The former director caused a loss of about 78 million drams to the Byurakan Observatory


The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings on abuse of the Victor Hambardzumyan Byurakan Observatory ended in the General Director of the External Case of the Investigation Committee. This was reported by the KP.

In particular, during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings, the person who was appointed by the law of Victor Hambardzumyan, according to which the law of the State Organization could take another position, registered as a scientific, pedagogical and creative work, using the prestige and recognition of his director. He has signed contracts for scientific and technical cooperation with the company.

During the contract, the company transferred 266 million 857 thousand AMD 762, of which the former director of the Byurakan Observatory received 78 million 511 thousand IDs of 385 AMD, managed it for its own needs.

Public criminal prosecution has been filed against the former director by paragraphs 2 and 5 of Article 441, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (by the official authorized by the official or the abuse of the influence or powers of the official person).

19 million AMD was restored during the damage caused during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings, and the remaining amount of money was imposed on the latter's mobile and real estate.

The criminal proceedings were sent to the Supervisory Prosecutor.
