"There are not many places in the world where the President of Taiwan and the leaders of other countries that are our good friends can meet.
We are ready to support Taiwan and be his strong ally, "said the Latin American leader.
"I told the US President that if he ever wanted to meet with the President of Taiwan, he could do it in Paraguay," Penyan added.
He also noted that his country is ready to contribute to the dialogue between Taiwan and Japan. According to The Japan Times, the high-ranking officials of Taipei and Tokyo have already met in May.
