Germany is concerned about the possible deal between the United States and Russia

The German government is afraid that the United States will "refuse" from Ukraine to unilaterally eliminate sanctions against Russia and resume trade with it. This was reported by Bild newspaper, citing sources.

Berlin believes that such a development will be the "worst scenario". The German authorities had such concerns after the telephone conversation between Russia and America Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

According to the German Marshall Fund Security Expert Claudia Major, the US President's position is unlikely to be predictable, and Europeans cannot rely on it. He noted that the Ukrainian conflict is no longer a priority for Washington.
