Syrian Interior President Ahmed Al-Shaaa had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa on Wednesday evening. During the conversation, the decision of the EU members to eliminate the economic sanctions on Syria, SANA news agency reported grateful to the EU leadership and member states, calling it a "historic step to move the country to a more stable future."
The interim president stressed "the importance of support for Syria at this stage" Al-Sharaa noted that "Israeli intervention continues to influence Syria." He pointed out "the need to support Syria by the European Union so that the intervention will stop."
