The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan had a telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, during which the parties agreed to start humanitarian aid supplies from the UAE to Gaza.
According to the Emirati WAM news agency, in the first stage the humanitarian aid will provide food for about 15,000 civilians in the Palestinian enclave.
The UAE initiative also includes children's products and raw materials for bakery. On May 18, the Israeli Defense Army announced its launching military operations in the northern and southern territories of Gaza.
