Specialists of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the regional staff of the "Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum and Historical Environment Protection Service" visited 18 monuments of Syunik region for monitoring. This was reported by the IAEA.
The current state of monuments and further steps aimed at protection were discussed on the spot.
Honey Fortress, St. Hovhannes, Big Tagh, St. Hagh village of St. Sargis, Lichk village of St. Sargis, Agarak caravansatan (turned into the "Araks" restaurant in the Soviet era, were monitored in Meghri community. During the meeting with the head of the community, issues related to the protection of monuments were discussed. An agreement has been reached for further cooperation.
The Greek Church, Halidzor Fortress, Vaghanavank Monastery, Vaghanavank Monastery, Baghavank Monastery, Baghavank Castle Church, Tati monastery complex, and Halidzor checkpoint, the Halidzor monastery and the Halidzor monastery complex.
