Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro welcomed the telephone conversation between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The statement came from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bolivarian Ivan Gill Pinto.
"President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro welcomes the conversation between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the United States Donald Trump, during which they discussed the implementation of the program of peace in Ukraine."
He stressed that the Venezuelan leader is in favor of the first step in the peaceful settlement of the conflict "to create a fair and steady peace, which fully guarantees comprehensive security and eliminates any threat or hostility against the Russian Federation."
