The results of the "Youth Capital of the Republic of Armenia 2025" competition will be summarized in the Ministry of Education and Culture on October 18. The cities of Abovyan, Alaverdi, Aparan, Martuni and Noyemberyan are competing for the title of the 2025 Youth Capital.
The purpose of the annual competition is to support the activation of regional youth life, to promote the increase in the volume of works and programs implemented by local governments in the field of youth policy, to encourage the formation and development of youth work at the community level, the implementation of innovative youth ideas, etc.
Each year, a tender commission and an expert assessment group are established to organize and conduct the tender.
In September, the members of the expert assessment group visited the applicant cities, where they had meetings with community leaders, municipal staff, heads of educational institutions, got acquainted with representatives of local youth organizations and active youth groups, studying their level of involvement in local self-government bodies. As a condition, the potential and possibilities of the communities' sports, cultural, entertainment and recreation facilities, as well as the current and planned youth programs, were considered.
The expert visits were followed by the SMS voting phase. It was implemented among the RA population from September 21 to October 10, during which it was possible to send a maximum of 5 SMS messages from the same phone number.
According to the tender regulations, the results of the tender are summarized and confirmed by the tender commission by combining the two components of the expert assessment (expert assessment of the community's capabilities and the city's proposed project) and SMS voting results.
Thus, the community with the most points in the contest based on the evaluation of the expert group and SMS voting will be declared the 2025. The Youth Capital of the Year of the Republic of Armenia, whose name will be announced at the final session of the extended composition of the competition committee.
