Syrian Foreign Minister. Damascus hopes to have a unified position of the Arab League against Israel's actions

Damascus expects the Arab countries to accept a common position, aims to support the restoration of Syrian sovereignty in all its territories.

This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Syrian Transitional Government Assad Al-Sheimani, addressing the 34th summit of the League of Arab States in Baghdad, which is broadcast on Iraqi "Al-Ichbaria". This is the first summit of the regional organization, in which the representative of the new administration of Damascus is attended.

"Israel's continued threats and violations in southern Syria are a rough violation of the most important principles of international law and the UN Charter and poses a threat to regional stability. The ongoing attacks threaten peace and opens the road for further chaos in the region.

We hope the united position of the Arab countries and their effective role to support the right to restore full sovereignty of Syria to all its territories, "said Al-Sheeybani.

In December 2024, after a change of government in Syria, Israel began to strike on military facilities in the territory of the Arab Republic.
