Pakistan announced mourning over the death of the Iranian president

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed condolences over the death of Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and declared a day of mourning due to the tragedy. The Prime Minister of Pakistan wrote about this on X social platform.

Sharif reminded that not even a month has passed since Raisi and Abdollahian's visit to Pakistan.

"They were good friends of Pakistan. "Pakistan will observe a day of mourning, the flag will be lowered as a sign of respect for President Raisi and those accompanying him and as a sign of solidarity with brotherly Iran," Sharif wrote.

The head of the government expressed his condolences to the people of Iran.

"I have been following with concern the developments related to the reports of the emergency landing of President Raisi's helicopter. I was hoping for good news. Alas, that didn't happen. I, along with the government and people of Pakistan, express our deepest condolences and sympathy to the people of Iran regarding this terrible loss," Sharif said.

The helicopter of the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi crashed while landing in the East Azerbaijan province of Iran, when he was returning from the opening ceremony of the reservoir on the border of the Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan with the country's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and other officials. All those in the helicopter were killed.
