Europe prepares new restrictions for Russian ships. Euobserver

The European Union intends to limit the movement of 25 Russian oil tanks, prohibiting them from entering the Baltic and Northern Seas. This was reported by the Euobserver portal. These ships can be recognized as part of the Russian Shadow Navy, which is used to bypass the Western oil embargo.

According to the declassified document acquired by the newspaper, the necessary measures are part of a new sanctioned package. It includes 149 ships suspected of transporting oil, bypassing sanctions. About 25 of them are in European seas, and, according to the European Commission experts, are dangerous for the environment and infrastructure.

Earlier, France has prepared half of the 17th package of sanctions against Russia. New restrictions will affect the suppliers of "Shadow Navy" and dual-purpose products. According to French Foreign Minister Jean-Nelel Baro, if Moscow refuses to resign from the 30-day ceasefire, the EU can tighten its resources in the oil and financial sectors.
