Grandpa 14 of Levon said to the cardinals that Pope Francis left a "valuable inheritance" that should continue.
At his first meeting with all cardinals, he asked the elders to establish their commitment to major church reforms adopted by the Vatican Second Assembly in the 1960s.
Grandpa 14 of Levon noted that Grandpa Francisco, who had a vision, opened a 1.4 billion church to the modern world, has left an example of full commitment to the service.
"Let's take over this valuable heritage and continue our journey," said the newly elected Pope to the cardinals.
The Cardinals' conclave chose the 267th Pope in Rome on May 8. Grandpa 14 of Levon replaces Pope Francis. Pope Francis died of a heart attack, April 21 in his Vatican Santa Marta residence. Grandpa, 88, was buried on April 26.
