The President of the National Academy of Sciences Radik Martirosyan died at the age of 89.
He was in 1958. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Yerevan State University with the qualification of astrophysicist.

Postgraduate studies at the Lebed Establishment of the Lebed E. 1964-1968 He was a senior researcher for radiophysics and electronics of the Armenian SSR, 1968-1970, head of the laboratory department, deputy director of scientific works, director. Since 1965 he has been teaching at YSU, 1983-1993, Head of YSU Chair of External Physics, 1993-2006, YSU Rector. Since 2006, he has been the head of the GSC Chair of Radiophysics and Telecommunications, 2006-2021, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. Martirosyan is the chairman of the professional board awarding the scientific degrees in YSU.

Martirosyan is the author of more than 200 scientific works, which refer to the operation of the decimeter domain quantum amplifiers, to improve the technologies of artificial crystals for quantum electronics, the development and implementation of high sensitive receiving systems. Martirosyan's successive quantum amplifier has increased the sensitivity of the Ratam-600 major radio stake system 14 times, which has allowed to explore a number of cosmic laser sources. Under his scientific management, the High Sensitivity Radio and Electronics Institute has been widely used in "Priroda" and "Okian" space programs for natural resources.
