Baku accused Moscow of "unfriendly step"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan commented on the information about the detention of Mili Mejlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) at the Moscow Airport.

The head of the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Aykhan Hajizade confirmed the incident.


"Despite the fact that the delegation left Baku to Moscow, MP Azer Badamov was detained at Moscow airport without any preliminary warning or notice. After waiting for some time at the Moscow Airport, he returned to our country.


In connection with the incident, the Russian Foreign Ministry has been established immediately through the Russian Federation, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the issue will be investigated, but did not explain the reasons for this decision.


"We consider this decision of the Russian side unfriendly and we expect to explain clear explanations on this issue," Hajizade said.
